Rule of Thirds

Rule of Thirds

Ruins of Corfe Castle in the background, some lovely cows in the foreground, the ruins just happened to be there.

Barcombe Mills sluice gates which help prevent the River Ouse from flooding local farms and houses, although it doesn't always have an effect and it all floods anyway.

Old Heathfield churchyard dating back to the 12th Century, Robert Hunt was a vicar here before sailing to America in the early 17th Century.

Well, there are three, so it's got to be thirds....... hasn't it?????

  1. Brilliant!! What a wonderful magical place where you live that just happens to have the ruins of this castle in the background - AND you got the two horizons on the 1/3 and 2/3 lines. You got the grave markers on the vertical 1/3 and 2/3 lines too :) Yay! You should save that first picture...

  6. Wow! Mizz Kay you have a wonderful eye. The cattle look as though they are grazing on a wonderful stage set with Corfe Castle behind them. The cemetery is a very nicely done example of the rule of thirds, and I just love that last one with the 3 birds.

  7. I just love that first shot. One third practical, two thirds mystical. And the light in the foreground is quite magical. Am also taken with the post and birds, a perfect thirdy example.

  8. I love the last shot and yes it is a perfect example of 'thirds'

flooding is good for the soil.... or is it soul?

  9. I suspect that the cows also just happened to be there from their point of view..or maybe they don't think that deeply. Love the three birds.

  11. I hope it is ok with you to make a couple suggestions. I know there are a lot of bloggers who do not like having to complete the captcha to leave a comment. You might get more interaction by disabling that on your comments. (I know I will only try once and if I can't get the letters I move on.) And you might get more responses to your comments if you enable the comment to be replied to via e mail. Right now your comments read noreplyblogger.... I just thought you might not be aware of these settings. No problem if that is how you want them. A lot of people don't realize they are set that way by default.
